About the author

Henry Sovio taught Geography 12 in Surrey, BC, for more than two decades. Before that he played in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and in the CFL with the BC Lions and Calgary Stampeders. Now retired, he frequently travels to different parts of the world taking photographs that he can share with Geography teachers and their students - from the glaciers of Antarctica and Greenland, to caves in Slovenia, Arizona, New Mexico, and Barbados, geysers in Iceland and Yellowstone Park, boiling mudpots in New Zealand, and volcanic craters in Hawaii and Central America. As an avid kayaker and outdoorsman, much of his time is spent exploring the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest.
